AHCCCS Policy Section Updated
The
AHCCCS Medical Policy Manual (AMPM) was recently updated to reflect
changes to the policy manual to update the Direct Service Claiming
(DSC) Program. The updates specifically change the wording for health
aide training and training certificates. You can download the updated
pages for your manual by following this link.
MAXIMUS is
pleased to announce that the MAC program will be conducting statewide
Coordinator and Train the Trainer trainings for all MAC Coordinators.
MAC Coordinators who have not attended MAC Coordinator training since
February 1, 2005 should plan to attend. Training is required
annually. Pre-registration
is appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact your MAXIMUS
Account Manager. We looked forward to seeing you at the training.
Effective
February 1, 2006, speech language pathologists must hold a current
license from the Arizona Department of Health Services, as specified
under Arizona Administrative Code R9-16-203D, as well as being
certified by the Arizona Department of Education to be an AHCCCS
registered provider.
MAXIMUS
recently held a Regional Information Session during the week of
January 16-20 through out the state of Arizona to present updated
information to LEAs about topics including DSC Health Aide
Registration, MAC Personnel Rosters, and Audit material. The
presentation material can be downloaded using this link.
The
Department of Education and AHCCCS are pleased to announce the
upcoming Special Education Directors Forum.
The Forum will provide Special Education Directors around the
state the opportunity for discussion of specific issues and concerns.
Please find the attached memo
that will outline the details regarding the Special Education
Directors Forum.
We appreciate your efforts in
submitting Health Aide registration packets by the deadline.
Recently, several Health Aide Registrations have been returned
to LEAs due to not meeting registration requirements.
We are sending this notice in order to clarify key
requirements and reduce returned forms.
The Provider Registration Packet
consists of three forms: (1) The Provider Registration Form, (2) The
Provider Participation Agreement, and (3) The W-9 Form.
Please
remember this key information when registering Health Aides:
Only the
original AHCCCS forms and photocopies of the originals are accepted.
Re-typed or scanned forms will NOT be accepted.

registration process for Health Aides must mirror the process for any
other AHCCCS provider. Please
follow the above requirements when registering Health Aides. If these requirements are not met, AHCCCS will not be able to
process the registration packet and it will be returned to the LEA
for corrections.

New DSC Match Verification

All LEAs participating in the AZ
School Based Claiming Program are required to certify that they have
expended the appropriate amount of State/Local funds to meet the
Title XIX State match requirements on a quarterly basis. Full
